About Us
Books that linger—on the shelf, in the mind, and in conversation.
Casa Carlini is a small, independent publishing house devoted to literature, philosophy, history, science, biography, and ideas. We are not a catalogue of titles. We are a considered argument, title by title, for why certain books belong in the world—and in your hands.
We began with a simple conviction: that publishing is an act of trust. Trust between a writer and an editor, between a printer and a reader, between the past and the present. Every book we take on is an extension of that trust. We publish with a particular affection for voices that challenge, illuminate, or refuse to fade quietly into the past—writers whose work continues to ask something of us long after the final page.
"We believe a book should be worthy of the space it occupies—on your shelf, yes, but also in your thinking."
Our catalog ranges from restored classics and overlooked masterpieces to contemporary works that speak urgently to the present moment. We are drawn to the book that arrives thirty years too early, the essay collection that never quite found its audience, the novelist whose reputation faded with the decade that misread them. We are equally drawn to the new voice that has something genuine and difficult to say.

Each title is selected with care, edited with respect, and designed with an eye for beauty, clarity, and longevity. We think seriously about typography, paper weight, cover design, and the texture of the reading experience from the first line to the final colophon. These are not incidental details. They are how a publisher keeps its promises.
At Casa Carlini, we believe books are not disposable objects but companions—objects built for repeated encounter, for annotation and argument, for being lent and returned and lent again. That belief shapes everything we do. It shapes the paper you feel in your hands, the margins generous enough to write in, the binding that opens flat without protest.
Whether you are discovering a timeless author for the first time or returning to a familiar one, our aim has not changed: to make books worthy of your time, your space, and your attention. We are grateful, always, that you are reading.
