Three small things that make a big difference.
We want to meet your work in the best possible circumstances. A little order helps us give it the attention it deserves.
Show Us What You’ve Got
Give us the necessary map.
Tell us what the work is, where it wants to go, and why you are the person to take it there.
A cover letter.
Up to 300 words. Introduce the work, its genre, and anything essential we should know.
A synopsis.
Up to 500 words. Show us the shape of the project without making us guess.
A book proposal.
For projects that need context: audience, comparable titles, author background, and scope.
Your manuscript.
Attach the work in one of the accepted formats. Please send original, unpublished work only.
Bring us writing with a reason to exist.
These are our current length guidelines. If your project falls just outside them but feels unmistakably right, make your case in the cover letter.
Poetry
3 to 5 poems, maximum 10 pages
Short work
1,500 to 8,000 words
Novel
First 3 chapters, up to 30 pages
Nonfiction
5,000 to 60,000 words
Clarity is kindness.
Submissions are free. We consider original, unpublished work only and do not accept simultaneous submissions. We aim to respond within four to six weeks; if six weeks pass without a response, you are welcome to follow up.
Accepted authors receive professional publication and global distribution. Terms are negotiated individually. Casa Carlini does not currently offer advances.
