A timeless epic of adventure, endurance, and the extraordinary journey home.

One of the greatest works of ancient literature, The Odyssey recounts the legendary journey of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, as he struggles to return home after the Trojan War. Filled with mythical creatures, divine interventions, heroic trials, and unforgettable encounters, Homer’s epic explores themes of loyalty, courage, identity, and the enduring power of perseverance. Alexander Pope’s acclaimed English translation, first published between 1725 and 1726, transformed the poem for eighteenth-century readers with its elegant heroic couplets, grandeur of language, and remarkable poetic craftsmanship. Pope’s version remains one of the most celebrated translations of Homer’s masterpiece.

Through Odysseus’s encounters with the Cyclops, Circe, the Sirens, Calypso, and countless other challenges, The Odyssey presents a profound meditation on what it means to overcome adversity and find one’s way home.
