About the Author

Rabindranath Tagore (1861–1941) was an Indian poet, novelist, playwright, philosopher, and educator who transformed Bengali literature and became one of the most influential cultural figures of the modern era. In 1913, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for Gitanjali, becoming the first non-European Nobel laureate in literature. His writings explored themes of humanity, spirituality, nature, love, and freedom, and his works continue to inspire readers around the world.
