New York, NY — February 3, 2025 — Casa Carlini today announced new editions of seven works by Nobel laureate Bertrand Russell, publishing across two of its nonfiction imprints: Q, which publishes thought-provoking books in science and philosophy that challenge, inspire, and inform; and Topic, which explores the stories behind the subjects and social issues that shape our world. The titles will be available in ebook and paperback formats beginning this month, with audiobook editions to follow later in 2025.
Russell (1872–1970) was a British philosopher, logician, and social critic awarded the 1950 Nobel Prize in Literature. Nearly a century after they first appeared, his essays on knowledge, science, and conflict remain widely read for the same reason they succeeded originally: they make difficult ideas legible without dumbing them down.
Each new edition has been redesigned with updated typography and production values. The texts themselves are unchanged — Casa Carlini's goal is to present Russell's original writing clearly, not to reinterpret or modernize it.

- Why Men Fight (1916) — Russell's analysis of the roots of human conflict, and an argument for rational, compassionate alternatives — as pointed now as when it was written.
- The Problem of China (1922) — Russell's on-the-ground account of China's politics and society after a year spent in the country, and his warnings about the West's role there — a snapshot of a moment still relevant to understanding China's relationship with the West today.
