About the Author

William Faulkner (1897–1962) was an American novelist and Nobel Prize laureate whose innovative storytelling transformed modern literature. Best known for works including The Sound and the Fury, As I Lay Dying, Light in August, and Absalom, Absalom!, Faulkner created a fictional world centered on the American South while exploring themes of memory, race, family, identity, and human endurance. Awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1949, he remains one of the most influential writers of the twentieth century.
