A revolution is coming. A fortune is at stake. Everyone has a price.
In Nostromo, Joseph Conrad tells a gripping story of revolution, greed, and betrayal set in the fictional South American country of Costaguana. When political unrest threatens the wealthy silver mine at Sulaco, a group of politicians, businessmen, revolutionaries, and adventurers find themselves caught in a dangerous struggle for control. At the center is Nostromo, a charismatic and trusted sailor whose reputation for courage and loyalty makes him the man everyone turns to when the crisis begins. But when he is given responsibility for a fortune in silver, his loyalties are tested, and his life takes an unexpected turn. Moving between the people on both sides of the conflict, Conrad shows how money and power can change relationships, destroy trust, and reshape lives.
