About the Author

William Faulkner (1897–1962) was an American novelist, short story writer, and Nobel Prize laureate whose works transformed twentieth-century literature. Best known for his fictional Yoknapatawpha County, Faulkner created some of the most profound portraits of the American South, exploring themes of history, race, memory, family, guilt, and human endurance.
