Faith, honor, and courage collide in a sweeping epic of medieval Poland and the struggle for freedom.

In Knights of the Cross, Henryk Sienkiewicz creates a magnificent historical novel set during one of the most important conflicts of medieval Europe—the struggle between Poland and the powerful Teutonic Order. The story follows the young knight Zbyszko of Bogdaniec as he seeks honor, love, and revenge amid a world of chivalry, warfare, and political intrigue. As tensions rise between the Polish kingdom and the crusading knights, personal destinies become intertwined with a larger battle for national identity and survival. Rich with vivid battles, unforgettable characters, and historical detail, Sienkiewicz presents a dramatic portrait of courage, loyalty, and the enduring human desire for justice.
