Web Developer Intern

We’re seeking a Web Developer Intern to enhance our WooCommerce site, optimize for SEO/book sales, and build features that support authors and readers across casacarlini.com.
This unpaid educational internship follows U.S. Department of Labor FLSA guidelines, prioritizing your learning as the primary beneficiary with hands-on training tied to your formal education (academic credit required).
Customize WordPress/WooCommerce themes, plugins, and storefronts for book sales (e.g., SEO tweaks, product pages for Amazon/IngramSpark links).
Receive structured training in publishing web dev (responsive design, e-commerce best practices, StreetLib integration) with iterative feedback like classroom critiques.
Debug sites, create simple landing pages for launches, and research tools; work complements our team under close supervision.
Enrolled in computer science, web development, or related program; must be able to receive academic credit.
Proficiency in HTML/CSS/JavaScript, PHP/WordPress, WooCommerce; Git basics a plus; portfolio with sites/demos welcome.
Passion for books/digital publishing, problem-solving mindset, open to feedback for remote Zoom/Trello collaboration.
Portfolio-ready projects credited on casacarlini.com (live site work).
Stipend-eligible via school programs (e.g., Barnard BBIP, Duke Funding, CUNY Magner)—include details in applications.
Mentorship from publishing pros, free books, references; flexible remote hours in a book-loving team. No paid role entitlement post-internship.
