Video Editor Intern
Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 10–12 weeks (Summer/Fall 2026, flexible to align with academic calendar)
Hours: 15–20 per week, accommodating your class schedule
Casa Carlini is a fiscally sponsored, mission-driven independent publisher through Fractured Atlas, based in NYC and dedicated to amplifying literature through digital innovation. Bring our stories to life on screen! We’re seeking a Video Editor Intern passionate about visual storytelling to create engaging social media reels, promotional posts, and book trailers that spotlight our titles and authors.
This unpaid educational internship follows U.S. Department of Labor FLSA guidelines, prioritizing your learning as the primary beneficiary with hands-on training tied to your formal education (academic credit required).
Edit and produce 8–10 short-form videos and reels for social media (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) and 2–3 cinematic book trailers.
Receive structured training in digital publishing marketing and video production — including editing workflows, motion graphics, pacing, transitions, and audio synchronization — with iterative feedback similar to studio critique sessions.
Collaborate with our creative team on concept development, script adaptation, and caption design; learn how visual media enhances book promotion in publishing.
Manage and archive project files for long-term brand assets using cloud-based tools (Google Drive, Trello).
Enrolled in film, digital media, communication, or design-related program; must be able to receive academic credit.
Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve); motion design experience in After Effects or Canva a plus.
Strong visual sensibility, storytelling intuition, and enthusiasm for books and literary culture.
Organized, detail-oriented, and receptive to feedback for remote collaboration via Zoom/Trello.
Portfolio-ready edited videos credited on CasaCarlini.com and official social channels.
Stipend-eligible via school programs (e.g., Barnard BBIP, Duke Funding, CUNY Magner)—include details in applications.
Mentorship from publishing and media professionals, networking opportunities, free books, and references.
Flexible remote hours in a collaborative, book-loving team. No paid role entitlement post-internship.
