Graphic Design Intern
Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 10–12 weeks (Summer/Fall 2026, flexible to align with academic calendar)
Hours: 15–20 per week, accommodating your class schedule
Casa Carlini is a fiscally sponsored, mission-driven independent publisher through Fractured Atlas, based in NYC and dedicated to amplifying literature through digital innovation. Help shape how readers see our books! We’re seeking a Graphic Design Intern to create marketing visuals and cohesive branding assets that bring our titles, campaigns, and author stories to life.
This unpaid educational internship follows U.S. Department of Labor FLSA guidelines, prioritizing your learning as the primary beneficiary with hands-on training tied to your formal education (academic credit required).
Design marketing visuals for social media, newsletters, and the website (e.g., quote cards, carousel graphics, launch banners, ad creatives).
Create on-brand assets for campaigns and series (lockups, badges, typography treatments, simple motion/animated posts if skills allow).
Adapt existing cover and brand elements into cohesive visual systems across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Etsy, Shopify, etc.).
Prepare final files for digital use (correct dimensions, export settings, naming conventions) and organize them in shared folders.
Enrolled in graphic design, visual communication, or related program; must be able to receive academic credit.
Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign, Figma, or Canva (Adobe preferred, but not required).
Strong eye for typography, layout, and color; interest in branding and book/literary aesthetics.
Organized, responsive, and open to feedback for remote collaboration via Zoom/Trello/Google Drive.
Portfolio-ready visuals and campaigns credited on CasaCarlini.com and our official channels.
Experience working within a real brand system for an independent publisher, with constructive design critiques and mentorship.
Stipend-eligible via school programs (e.g., Barnard BBIP, Duke Funding, CUNY Magner)—include details in applications.
Mentorship from publishing and design-minded professionals, free books, and references; flexible remote hours with a creative, book-loving team.
No entitlement to a paid role after the internship ends.
Email your resume, link to portfolio (or PDF of 4–8 samples), and a brief note on your interest in literary design and branding to jobs@casacarlini.com.
